Potluck Video is an open forum venue to view time-based media projects produced by emerging artists and designers.
The work shown in this venue is experimental in nature and often does not fit the parameters of film festivals, gallery exhibitions or other more traditional outlets. The work selected for Potluck Video can be either narrative or non-narrative, formally or conceptually drive, and may include short format cinema, documentary, kinetic typography, animated text and/or poetry, traditional and experimental stop motion animation, and computer generated animation, as well as performance, spoken word, installation or a music component that integrates projected media. The intent of Potluck Video is to bring together people with varying levels of experience, diverse backgrounds and working within various disciplines to share their creative endeavors. Attending the Potluck Video venue is free and open

Currently, Potluck Video exists in the physical location of East Lansing, Michigan and was initially funded by
a generous grant from the College of Arts & Letters and the Department
of Art & Art History.
Potluck Video is the creation of
Michael Hersrud. Michael currently teaches graphic design, interactive
and time-based media courses at Michigan State University.
